Friends of the Oslo Philharmonic
About us
The Friends of the Oslo Philharmonic was founded in January 1952. The Friends Association is passionate about increasing the understanding of Oslo Philharmonic’s cultural significance and gathers classical enthusiasts in connection with rhe orchestra’s concerts and arranges trips in connection with their tours. We also have our own events, often in collaboration with other friend associations such as the Friends of the National Museum.
We want more members of all ages! If you are interested in classical music and would like to have a social community around the music, you are most welcome to join us! Read more about our membership benefits under below.
The association also has equity that is invested in funds, and which ensures the association’s purpose of providing financial support to Oslo Philharmonic and the Oslo Philharmonic Choir. Throughout the years, we have supported major concert projects. Other contributions have been made to orchestra expansion, touring, instrument purchases, chamber concerts, recordings and acoustics improvements in Oslo Concert Hall, anniversary book and anniversary outfits.
The association currently has approx. 1000 enthusiastic members, who enjoy a number of membership benefits.
